Does Anyone Else Hear the Song Eye of the Tiger?

Dun.....dun dun dun....dun dun duuunnnnn.....dun...dun dun dun....dun dun dunnnnnnn...lol...

I'm so excited! I do my weight loss best when I've got motivation from someone serious about it with me and we can lean on each other for support.  Well, I have a friendly competition (starting today) going with my sister Cymbre and cousin Sumer.  We are doing our first weigh in today :)  The way it's going to go is we will weigh in weekley (Cymbre via web cam lol).  Between Sumer and I who ever lost the most win's 1 lunch that week from the other.  Cymbre couldn't do that since she is in Beeville.  If you gain, you have to pay a dollar for every pound you gain.  The final day for the competition is May 31st and whoever has lost the most wins the money and the 2 who didn't win have to go in together and buy the winner a new outfit.  Now where do I want to get that outfit from...... ;)

I can kick...I can stretch.....I'mmmmmmm 30!

lol Ok so unless you have watched Saturday Night Live in the 90's you might not get the title but Molly Shannon had a character that would say that except she would say she was 50 lol.  I know that I'm late blogging about it but hey, at least I'm doing it now lol.  My sister and Ranston came down for my birthday and I was so glad they were here.  I had a really hard time turning 29 for some reason and I was worried about 30.  She and our friend Angela had orginized a great day!  At 8 am my dad brought me breakfast (which wasn't out of the ordinary for when he's in town) and handed me an envelope with some quick picks in it.  It was random but not out of the ordinary because we do random stuff like that all the time.  Then at 9 am my friend Lindsey Barnes brought me a bouquet of suckers and said there is 30 of them.
Like the cup I put them in? lol.  I thought it was random but still wasn't catching on and thought "Um ok what's up with this?" lol.  Then at 10 am Kristy Crutcher brought me some scratch off's for my birthday.  By this time I'm starting to think ok something is going on. Kristy had given me scratch off's before for my birthday.  She mentioned there was 30 and that's when it clicked.  I went in and looked at the quick picks from my dad and there were 30 of those also.  At 11 am my Grandmother brought me 30 little Dr. Peppers and my Mom and Craig sent 30 roses.
I met my sister at noon at La Hacienda and when I walked to the back some of my friends were there as well :) Cymbre, Angela Kennedy, Robbie and Jage Reed Stokes, Kristy, Kason, and Kynlee Crutcher, Lindsey and Cannon Barnes, Betty Zamora, Lorena Bustamante, and Victoria Guiterrez.
I got a crown and everything :) After we ate lunch Cymbre and Angela had gotten me cupcakes from Gigi's Cupcakes and I was so excited!  I had been wanting to try those cupcakes forever.

Talk about a sugar rush!  They were sooo good though :)  Cymbre also had them write a little note on cards for me.  They were really sweet.  After lunch Angela was my 1 pm and she brought me a zebra print pail with gold coins in it and there were quarters at the bottom.  Her card was the funniest card I had read in a long time.  It said "You know your getting old when you see a cute guy.....and wonder if his dad is single" lol.  Which is beginning to be true lol.  Robbie was my 2 pm and she brought me a gift card to Cpl Ray's.  Yum, love me some coffee.  My Nana was my 3 pm and she brought me 30 (1) dollar bills.  At 4 pm Natasha Riley brought me 3 rolls of quarters.  Then 5 pm came and my sister was my 5 pm.  She gave me the cutest shabby chic container.  In the container was 30 pieces of paper.  On those pieces of paper were 30 memories.  That was the most thoughtful gift I've received in a couple of years.  I also got some great photograph's from my Dad, 2 new watches from my Mom and Craig, and another most thoughtful gift was a cookbook my Mama made me.  I have wanted one of these for 10 years now.  A long time ago (I say long time because I can't remember when she did this but I know it was 10 years ago lol) she was addicted to Creative Memories scrap booking.  She made my Nana and her self a cookbook that had family receipe's along with photo's and other fun things from family members.  Well come to find out she has been making me one as well!! I had just mentioned to my Nana that I was going to "steal" her's and make copies of it lol.  When I opened the box I think I looked more surprised about it than anything :)  We ate dinner at my Nan's and I failed to mention at the beginning of this, but it was her birthday as well lol.  We had enchilada's from the meat market here because they delicious and easy.  After dinner my Mom, Cymbre, Angela, Sumer, Scott, and I left for Hobbs, NM to gamble at the casino.  I didn't win any money but my Mom kept sitting next to me and I couldn't think because her machine kept going off lol.  It was a really great day and really appreciated all that was done by everyone.  I feel blessed and loved for sure and the next time I'm feeling I'm not I'm going to reread this blog post :)

SOMETHING I FORGOT:

My cousin Sumer and I love watching Glee and one night while watching Rachel Berry pulls out her "boombox" and it is bedazzled lol.  It was so funny.  I made the comment "I need one of those!!!" Well low and behold Sumer and one of her friends spent alot of time and patience on a bedazzled radio and gave it to me for my birthday!  It's awesome!!! It has found a home in my kitchen and fits in perfectly :) It was another one of the thoughtful gifts :)

Oh and I just had to add this picture....isn't he adorable?  :)

Ran Ran is Famous!

My sister and I LOVE watching Ellen.  She always does stuff w/ photo's with cute pics of kids doing funny stuff, bad paid for photo's, what's wrong w/ these photo's, etc.  So Cymbre and I submitted one of Ranston.......and it was on her Facebook page AND her website for all of America to see today!!! I love my little mister :)

I'm Dreaming of a Scentsy Christmas

So I had my Scentsy holiday party today :)  It was a great success!  I had it at my Nana's and Sumer had helped me carry all my stuff over and decorate.  We did a good job lol!  If I do say so myself lol.

Don't YOU want a stocking full of Scentsy?

Take me home and earn free Scentsy!

I gave away goodies!! A red snow flake plug in, a heavenly plug in, a gingerbread man full size warmer and a design it yourself warmer w/ the trim the tree stickers :)

See we use old candles to hold door's open now :) lol

A holiday tradition in my family is peanut butter squares, chocolate covered peanuts, and sausage balls (I threw in the tortilla roll ups lol) so of course I had to have treats there :)  My Nana made the sausage balls and she wasn't sure if the one batch was enough so she sent me to the store again for more ingredients and I think my family was glad because everyone got to take some home lol.  My mom was also nice enough to make wassel!! I love that stuff!  This really put me in the holiday spirit and I hope it did everyone that was nice enough to come :)

Reason 432,238,348,121 for why I am tired of being single

I am so tired of being single for many different reasons but the one that that comes to mind today is I HATE having to go to events alone.  I hate going alone even when I'm with my friends because all of their husbands are there.  It has got to where I sometimes don't go because I don't want to be the only single person there.  It never really bothered me until a couple of months ago.  One of my dearest friends is getting married today.  One of my other friends said she was gonig to wedding so I thought oh good I'm not going to have to go alone.  Well now I'm going alone.  I toyed with the thought of calling one of my guy friends from Odessa that knows her as well and seeing if he'd come and go with me but timewise there just isn't enough of it now.  As for the "single" issue, yes I go on dates every once in a while and I have let my guard go on a few qualities that would have made me say no in the past. I really am opening my eyes and trying because what if someone who has a quality that I use to think I would hate actually has it and GASP I actually like.  But they just haven't had enough good qualities to over come those others.  I was bored and uninterested.  And yes I know that I'm way to comfortable with the life I've grown accustom to but I really am trying to put myself out there more but I still need someone to make me laugh and make me WANT to see them on a 2nd date.  If you don't have a good time on the first date or feel even a smal smal small spark then why go on the 2nd date?

Ribbon, Ribbon, and More Ribbon!

So if you have read my blog from the beginning you know that I had dabbled in diaper cakes but I never sold any lol.  So I have a ton of ribbon left over that I would love to get rid of.  It's just sitting there and like everyone else I could use the money lol.  It would be great for bows, diaper cakes, or any other project that you need ribbon for.  Here's a pic of them and if anyone is interested I can email individual pictures, just leave a comment and leave a comment if you want to purchase some or all :)  If it doesn't sell in a week I'm going to try selling at my garage sale I hope to have next weekend, so let me know!

Beeville, TX ....Bee County....South Texas....1 hr from Corpus Christy...2 hrs from San Antonio...

Well I have decided to move :)  And I'm actually doing it this time!! I'm moving to Beeville, Texas.  My sister Cymbre and her family live there and it's a little bit bigger than Andrews but not much.  I'm so excited!  I need a change and get away from things and this is perfect.  I will miss my friends and family though.  I've applied to some places but not many lol.  The kind of jobs that I'm looking for are a bit scarce.  I've been looking in the paper online and through other various websites.  I also have my resume with SOS Staffing and Snelling in the area as well.  I did apply for a job in George West and had a phone interview with them.  I was told to call back after 10 am on Friday and I did but the secretary hiring was doing payroll and asked to call me back and I never heard from her.  I don't know how to take that exactly lol.  I would thnk if I didn't get the job she would've just had the girl tell me that the position has already been filled, but I don't know lol.  It's really exciting and I hope to find a job soon.  Keep me in your prayers that this is what I'm supposed to be doing.  I feel it is though.  We shall see :)

Once Upon A Time...There Was This Magical Place Called Myspace....

I use to blog on my Myspace alllll the time.  I started thinking about some of those blogs and would really love to share them with you guys and also have them here so I can go back and read them if for some reason something were to happen to my Myspace lol.  Sometime's I think about deleting it but I would hate to delete it and forget to get the blog posts.  On most of these you'll see "Listening to:" and on Myspace you can add a song you might be listening to or that may go with your specific blog.   So with out further ado....My Myspace Blogs...

Mama Let Me Drive

Mama let me drive

I'm sitting here watching the CMT Giants on Alan Jackson on my DVR and Taylor Swift just finished singing Drive. I love that song. My Mom says that it reminds her of my Dad Dad, but it reminds me of her too (and my Daddy but mostly her lol). When Cymbre and I were younger we'd always take our car whether it be the suburban, my dad's truck, or a little sports car, we knew how to drive all of them by the time we were 13. On any given Saturday or Sunday afternoon you could find us cruising the county roads. Sometime's I think it was to get out of the house and away from my Dad lol but for me it is a special memory. Rollin down Ruskin Rd. with the windows rolled down and Bon Jovi blaring....

I Love These

I was just browsing around online and I found these and loved them.....

Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift.

The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.

There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real!

Always put yourself in others' shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the person too.

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.

Where There Is A Patch Of Ice On The Concrete...Christy Shall Find It

Why is it that when there is a patch of ice, a hole, or a lose board on a deck (ha ha you know what I'm talking about) that I have to find it lol? And I also found out that my body doesn't take tumbles like it once did lol. I was walking out of my apt. yesterday to go to church and you guessed it...I found a patch of ice on the sidewalk lol. I'm sure my neighbor got a show cause it was right infront of his window and his blinds were open lol. Heck I'm laughing right now just thinking about it. And like some of my falls it was in slow motion. I hit my knee's first, then I through my purse in the air, and then that's when the rest of my body hit the ground. It was classic. I wish some of you would have seen it so you could get a good chuckle. Needless to say I did not make it to church. I was already running a little late and after that I didn't even try lol. My whole body is sooooo sore today. It feels like someone beat the crap out of me. Well I did get the crap beat out of me only it was by concrete and not a human lol. Well I just had to share that w/ you all. I found it funny lol and thought you all would too.

Plus One

Plus One

Plus one. I've never been bothered by that phrase until here recently. My company Christmas party is coming up and I'm in charge of it. Every RSVP that I've recieved there has been a plus one on it. I was looking at the overall list and there is a plus one next to everyone's name except mine. I've gotten used to the single life and I'm fine with it. I know that God has a great plan for my life and it's totally in his hands but I would like to have a "plus one" for some events. Sometimes it's not fun being the token single person.

Dance As If No One Is Watching

Dance as if no one were watching.....

Current mood: blah

I recieved a cross Sunday from my best friend that says "Dance as if no one were watching, sing as if no one were listening, live every day as it were your last". I already do the dancing part and the singing lol but I haven't been able to "live every day as if it were your last". How does one exactly get the courage to do that. Does God just give them so much confidence that they feel they can? I don't feel that he's ever given it to me. I can pretty much speak what's on my mind except for a few things. Sitting here right now I think "What if tomorrow is my last day here, what would I have wanted said?" and what comes to mind that I would want to tell someone I still couldn't. What if tomorrow came and I was still here and I did tell this person something and made a total idiot of myself. I have came close to "living like every day is my last" but when it comes down to it......I can't. I hope one day God gives me the courage to say what I want to say to the person I want to say it to. Until then though I hope that any of you that God has granted the courage to, that you live enough for all of us that don't have it lol.

My Dad

Well kids, I think I can also speak for my sister and say that we had an amazing time with our Dad this past weekend. It was so much freakin fun! I went over on Friday and stayed the night and then we got up early on Saturday and went fishing. My grandmother and cousin Elliott went as well. I haven't been fishing in some time but it's pretty much like riding a bike lol. You don't forget. As you get older you might be more aware of what your touching and ookie it can be (aka live worms jumping from your hands so you don't put the on the hook or when you switch to liver how slimey it is lol) but other than that it's the same. We didn't go to a lake but we went to this place called The Fishing Hole. It's free to fish there and you just have to buy the fish that you catch. They also gut and clean up the fish and cut them into filet's for you. My grandmother had found it about a year or so ago and had been going there but we hadn't made a trip to it. It's on the outside of Seminole and they have about three ponds. 2 of them have cat fish and the other one has bass. Everyone was spread out w/ my dad on one side, me and cymbre together on one, Grandmother at another pond, and Elliott at the pond w/ the bass. Cymbre caught the first fish and it was hillarious. She was screaming "I got one, I got one" and I'm running around trying to find the freakin net lol. So then she caught another one! Right after she had caught the first one lol. I was shortly behind her. Well my dad and Elliott were not going to let the girls beat them and provide dinner so they decided to actually start fishing and catch something lol. My grandmother also caught some. We ended up catching 45.5 lb's of catfish (I think that .5 was the bass that Elliott actually caught lol) in an hour and half!!! It was great! So after we broke my dad's bank account lol getting the fish we left. We headed back to Andrews and ate lunch. I went visiting that afternoon and caught up w/ some friends that I don't get to see to often these days so that was extra nice! That night we had a huge fish fry and my sister and I actually got to cook for the family. It was great! I was really worried about how my catfish would turn out but it turned out really well. Cymbre decided to make hush puppies and bless her heart she started to make them and she said "The mix is ready" and I said "ok give me a min. to get the catfish out of the grease". Then she started laughing. She had forgotten to put corn meal in the mix. So she had a flour based hush puppie mix lol. She through that out and I had corn meal left over so she just made a batch with that and they turned out fabulously. I can not wait until our next fishing trip. It was a great time to spend w/ my dad.

Furr's Parking Lot

Furr's Parking Lot

Current mood: loved

I was sitting at home last night watching T.V. and I flipped it to GAC and this song was playing. Natasha had told me about it but I still hadn't heard it till then. It's Chris Cagle's new one "Walmart Parking Lot". Oh my gosh! For the one's that grew up in Andrews this song could have the title "Furr's Parking Lot" and it would totally be describing us. This is the chorus:

So every weekend night we would all go down , there were freak sand hippies in my high school , football players all tryin to be cool , and everyboy scramblin' to hide their beer , when the cops drove by 'til the coast was clear , kids fallin in and out a' love , On the hoods 'a Chevy's, in the beds 'a trucks,we were stumblin' our way through life ' til our senior year, but man, we sure did learn a lot , In that Wal-Mart parking lot

As I was watching the video all sorts of memories started coming back from our days in the Furr's parking lot. That's where Johnny gave me the infamous nick name that to this day there are a few people that still call me that and it's ok because it was given to me by one of my best friends and only those that are allowed to call me that feel privaleged because I don't let just anyone call me Big Dog. When the movie theater had closed and they left there sign up at the parking lot Robbie and I used to write our names w/ the letters lol. It would be up for a few weeks for everyone to drive by and see lol. It was so much fun just sitting up there hanging out w/ everyone and no cares in the world. Those were some great times. Thanks for all the memories Furrs! lol

Atlanta

ATLANTA!!!

Current mood: cheerful

I had a fabulous time!!! It ws so much fun! I got in late so we just hung out at my sister and Mike's house that night. Saturday we got up and went to Hampton (subburb of Atlanta) and visited some of there friends and who they lived w/ after Katrina. We also went to Atlanta Motor Speedway. That was neat. They said that you can pay to take your car out on the track. I tried to talk Cymbre into it but she wasn't going for it lol. That afternoon we went to the Coca Cola museum. That was alot of fun. Especially when we got to the part where you can try all the different products that they make. We laughed so hard in the international one. There are some disgusting soda's out there lol. That night we went and rented In Her Shoes. It's so good! I could totally relate to the sisters in the sense that my sister may drive me nuts sometimes but I wouldn't make sense with out her. Sunday we slept in (missed church...oops) and then went and ate at the Atlanta Bread Company. If you ever are in the area and there is one EAT AT IT!!! It's way better than McAllisters. Then Cymbre and I went to the CNN Center. That was fun. We saw where Headline News and shows like that are filmed and made. Later we went to church and oh my gosh! That thing is ginormas! I may have the numbers wrong but I believe there are like 5,000 members and 2,000 avg. attendee's. Mark Wills is a member. lol Just had to through that out there and by the way he lives in the same neighborhood as my sister and I was very disappointed w/ his house lol. We went and ate at the Varsity. Another place that if there is one around go and eat at!! They have the best chili dogs and it's a fun atmosphere. Anyone that's ever been to Buddy's in Andrews and thought they were rude....go eat at the Varsity lol. They yell at you and stuff...it's great lol. Monday afternoon we went shopping and hung out. Got a great deal on a Dooney and Burke purse. Monday night we went to a ladies night out thing at there church. Candace Cameron Bure from Full House was the speaker. She did an awsome job. She pretty much gave her testimony (which was awsome) and spoke about getting back on your walk with God. We got to meet her and now that I look at the picture I feel kinda silly. lol I didn't realize how much my sister and I dressed alike that night! lol Oh well. You win some and lose some! lol But it was a great trip. It was nice to get away and especially to see my sister and Mike.

Who Needs Sleep?

Current mood: drained

Honestly sleep is overrated lol. Or one would think that was my motto this weekend! lol Thurs. I went with friends to The Ranch to see Wade Bowen and West 84 and they put on a great show! I didn't get home and in bed till 3 and had to be up at 6 for a safety meeting. Christy was a tired girl on Fri. I left work early so I could go home and take a nap before our company Christmas party, which was great by the way lol. Then after the party I went to see Stoney Larue at Dos. He put on an awsome show also. The turn out could have been better but you would have never known with the way Stoney performed. It was the first time I had ever seen him perform but he has another fan now lol. I've listened to his music but have never seen him in concert. I hope he comes out this way again soon. He was in Lubbock the next night but I didn't think I could handle another road trip to Lubbock right now (can I get an amen from Kyla and Kelley? lol). Saturday just went to Ragan's and hung out and that's about it for Sat. lol. I hope everyone's doing great and had a great and safe weekend! Much Love~~~~~Christy
