Plateau, I Do Not Like You

Dearest Plateau you are not welcome here.......

I've hit a plateau.  I'm either staying the same weight every week when I weigh or its one pound.  Now don't get me wrong, I love seeing the minus one and not the plus one every week.  I just wish some weeks it was more.

In the beginning everyone would ask me what my goal weight is.  I would respond with I have no clue. I would say that because it was true. I hadn't been past a certain point in 15 years so I didn't know where I ultimately wanted to be.  Now that I am down 159 (yep! You read that right:) I have a better idea of where I want my final number to be. I have 98 ponds to go and I can't wait! I've decided it was time to look into plastic surgery for skin removal so that's my next project. Wish me luck with that on picking the best doctor for me :)

I've had about 3 things happen to me in my weightless journey in the past few weeks.  I am going to Phoenix to the 1st ever Origami Owl convention and needed a dress for a gala.  So I've been stalking web pages for weeks. Pinning different things.  My mind being in the mind frame from the past that I'm going to have to specialty order a dress. One of the things on my weight loss bucket list is to go to a "normal" store and purchase something. Now really it's go to a "normal" store and purchase something not in the plus size section, but I'll take this first and then officially mark it off my list in the future.  I went to Dillard's and went to the appropriate section for me. I started looking and started finding so many dresses in my size. Not only formals, but just regular dresses that I could wear if I were to get invited to dinner or something (wishful thinking lol). I take them to the dressing room and start trying them on.  Now correct me if I'm wrong, but don't formals usually run smaller? Almost everyone I put on was a little big.  The one I decided on was a little big but I was just going to settle on it. I mean, go down a size? That's just crazy talk right? After texting a picture to my panel of judges they all said that I need to see if there is a smaller size and try it on to see which one looked better.  I decide they are right and walk out to search for a smaller size, thinking everyone is crazy. I find the smaller size and go back to the fitting room. Put the dress on and.....it fits like a glove! I was so excited and couldn't stop smiling as I checked it out in the mirror. I took a picture and everyone agreed it look better than the one before. After it being decided that this was the dress for me I made my way to the clerk to purchase it.  I texted my sister and McCarley (who were on the same text), that I think I'm fixing to hyperventilate in the middle of Dillard's because I was buying a size I hadn't seen since probably my sophomore/junior year of high school. After purchasing the dress I could not get the giddiness out of my system.  Then the next two only happened last night.  We were swimming/cooking out for Robbie's husbands birthday at her parents pool that also includes a slide.  I made the comment I really wanted to go down the slide, then immediately started worrying. What's the weight limit? Will my butt be to big and me get stuck? How embarrassing would that be? After contemplating going down the slide with all these fears I decided to just do it.  I made my way up the stairs. About half way up I see the weight limit sign. What?!?! I'm 30 lbs under the weight limit? That never happens! I get to the top and sit down. Feels good, not small compared to my butt. I push myself to go and go flying down the slide with ease! It was so much fun! I didn't even feel like there was a chance of me getting stuck! I went down that thing so many times! I even went down on my stomach! After accomplishing my fear of the slide I decided to accomplish another one.  When we were growing up we lived at the pool. We were there so much I joke around with a friend who was a lifeguard there that she was our instant babysitter. I learned to dive at that pool and I learned to back dive at that pool. Back diving was my favorite. I decided to just get on the diving board and if I didn't go straight and caused a tidal wave whatever, at least I tried. I'm standing on the edge of the diving board and there I go....I did it! That was so much fun I had to it again over and over! I felt so accomplished! Needless to say its been a GREAT couple of weeks for the self esteem!

I understand that some of the things I write about are probably not the most attractive with possible relationships but its part of who I am. Everyone brings baggage to the relationship and mine just happens to be this. He will either accept it or not because as sad as it is its a part of who I was making me who I am today.

1-5-0

It's official.....

I have lost 150 lbs :)

It's been amazing! I've gone down 5 sizes too.

When people ask me what my number is I get excited and sad at the same time.  I'm so excited to know that I've worked hard (yes, even though I have this tool it is still hard work), yet sad that I had that much to lose to begin with.  Some have mentioned, with excitement, "Oh my gosh! You've lost a whole person!"  Yes, it is very exciting to have been successful so far, but I shouldn't have had a whole person to lose to begin with. I just got side tracked and before I knew it I was where I was.

The good news is......I won't ever be back there again.  People say "Oh so and so had a surgery like that and they gained all their weight back". Ya not this girl. I've worked to hard and spent to much money to go back.

Plus.....I like the way healthy and happy fit :)

Here's my comparison picture :)

Little Bit Of This...Little Bit Of That...

I know I'm going to sound so ridiculous when I say this but.....

I am so excited that I can feel my collar bone! lol

I know!  I sound ridiculious but for someone that hasn't seen her collar bone in quite some time it feels amazing!  I catch myself feeling it during the day lol.  And when I look in the mirror I can see it and that makes me excited as well :)

So one of my friends from high school had the sleeve surgery this past Monday.  I was just as giddy the day before and the day of  for her like I was for my own surgery and I was the same way with my Dad when he had his surgery.

Speaking of my Dad, he is doing amazing with his surgery!  Since March 6th (when he started his liquid diet) he has lost 48 lb's!  He is off of all his medications!!  That is so amazing!! I'm so excited for him and the journey he's going through.

Remember that one shirt ?  Well....

I can wear it!! With confidence even!! It was so exciting when I put it on and looked in the mirror!  Today I'm going through my closet today and getting rid of a lot of my stuff that is way to big for me.  I'll be limited to my wardrobe choices for a while but it'll be worth it to get it out of my closet lol.

Well,Well,Well...

Look who is posting two times in a row...

I couldn't help but not when I put my shirt on this morning! Lol ok that sounds worse than it is but you'll get it in a minute :)

There was a shirt that I had bought about 2 years ago that when I received it, it didn't fit.  And until I had surgery it still didn't fit.  And now....

It's awesome to see the transformation with my clothes.  I had been in between sizes but Saturday I put on the next size down in jeans on and they fit!  I was getting so tired of baggy jeans but couldn't wear the next size yet so I just had to be patient.  Thank goodness those are done!

As of today I am down..... 129!  Woot Woot!

First 5k....check!

I DID IT!!

After months of waiting and anticipating, I finally got to participate in the Neon Splash Dash!  It was a great weekend all together though.  I flew out on Friday March 22nd to Houston and that was something to check off my weight loss bucket list by it's self (check out my blog on that here Weight Loss Bucket List ).  I was a little nervous before I got on the plane but once I was on the actual plane and in my seat it was all ok.

The next day when I woke up McCarley and I had coffee on her back patio while we sat and chatted and drank.  I really wish we lived closer so we could do it more often but I cherish it even more when we do get to.  We were entertained by Olivia doing cheers and being her cute self :)  We even let Scott join us on the patio for a little bit lol.  After that we got ready and by that time Alicia had joined us (Lindsey met us there) at McCarley's for us to head to Houston.  I'm so glad McCarley suggested getting a hotel room instead of us driving back that night.  We would have been exhausted!  We got checked in and relaxed before getting ready for the dash.....

There were so many people there! Oh my gosh!  It was crazy!!  After we waited in line for our t-shirts ,blinking necklaces, and bracelets we were greeted by Lindsey to wait for the race to start.  Once we had our whole team there it got a lot more fun.

They had us line up in front of the start line and it felt like they were herding us in like cattle lol.  They let so many go at a time and finally it was our turn!  One funny thing that happened right out of the gate was a girl tripped over a cone and hit the ground.  Kinda felt bad for her because doesn't that give the rest of the race a bad omen for her? lol.  They had check points (which we believe was every half K but we aren't for sure) where we were sprayed with glow in the dark stuff.  I say stuff because it was kinda foamy.  I made a joke to McCarley that I felt like we were at a rave/foam party lol.  And poor McCarley kept getting hit in the ear and at one point I looked and she had got hit in the eye.  She was a trooper about it though :).  After we hit all the check points and was sprayed with all different colors we hit the finish line!  It felt like a huge accomplishment to me!

We might have looked like hot mess' but it was an absolute blast!!! If you are looking for a fun run defiantly try this one out!  I even have friends that are wanting to do it in September already :)  I might just have to participate with them...maybe even run more than I did this time.

It's The Small Things In Life

When asked "Table or booth?" Without hesitation I said either. The old Christy would've said table without hesitation. The fact that I have no problem sitting in a booth comfortably both physical and with pride is a huge thing for me.

Ordering a t-shirt online and upon receiving it thinking "Oh that is not going to fit" and putting it on and it fits perfect!

Going to the doctor and not being spoken to in a very stern voice about my weight.

Wearing a cross body purse and feeling comfortable. Not thinking that people are looking at me thinking quietly "Big girl in a little purse...big girl in a little purse" (to the tune of "Fat guy in a little coat" from Tommy Boy". And for the record I love most F words but that 3 letter one I HATE!! And refuse to say it in most cases)

Having these pictures taken in remembrance of the first 100 (it was 116 at the time of the photos) lb loss! It was something I wanted to do forever and FINALLY was able to. KJae Photography (Kilah Flores) did these and she's amazing :)

I'm So Excited...I Just Can't Hide It

I am so excited to say this.....

My dad is having the same sleeve surgery I had done on March 20th!  My whole family is so excited for him!  I can't wait to see the results that he gets with it.  I think I've been getting on his nerves telling him different things that happened to me but I just want him to be prepared.  It's going to be so different for him but it will be the most amazing thing for him.  Please keep him in your prayers :)

My dad with my sister Cymbre, niece Kenner, and nephew Ranston

On another note, one thing I wanted to do when I lost 100 pounds was have new pictures taken.  My friend Kilah is going to be taking them and I can not wait to see how they turn out.  We have a couple of things up our sleeves (no pun intended ;) that is going to make them fun and amazing!  As soon as I get them I will defiantly be posting them on here.  It's going to be so great!  Can you tell I'm excited? lol

Change for Good

If you could do just one thing to change
your life for the better, what would it be?
Would you...

Spend more time with family?

Be a better friend?

Live a healthier lifestyle?

Improve the quality of your life in
some other meaningful way?

If you haven't noticed yet I'm all about change this year. The company I work for is too and it's so exciting!

They announced to us a few weeks ago that they are partnering with Rascal Flatts for a Change for Good campaign. How perfect does that fit in with my life and mission this year?

I've always said if your not happy with a situation you are the only person that can change it. I'm so glad I finally took my own advice. It doesn't have to be as big as my change but YOU are the only person that can change YOU for good. If you're not happy with your job..change it, if you're not happy with your scenery...change it, if you're not happy with you're hair color...change it.

With the partnership I plan on purchasing a changed tag and wearing it to remind myself that I have changed...for the good :)

It'll only get better from here....
