Whoa....It's been a while blog world

I can't believe I haven't blogged since FEBUARY! I don't know if it's I just haven't had time, nothing really to say, or honestly that I just forgot.  I love to blog though so I need to make it a point to blog.  In April I made the decision to go back to the salon world part time and I believe it was one of the best decisions I've made this year.  My bestie owns a salon here in town called The Hair Shack and she and another stylist have been wanting me to come back for a while but I just couldn't make the decision.  Doing nails in a small town is hard because if your having an off day and your performance isn't up to par, everyone will know.  I didn't want to not be 100% and have people talking about me and my work.  So around March I was introduced to a product called Shellac by Creative Nail Design.  It is a nail polish with gel in it that makes the polish stay on for twice as long for natural nail manicures.  It is amazing!  I wanted this product really bad, but the whole system is kind of pricey.  I couldn't justify buying it for just myself.  So that helped make my decision lol.  I would go back part time to make my money back but it ended up giving me so much more.  I didn't realize how much I missed working in the salon atmosphere.  I missed "working" with my friends and metting new people.  So in April I ordered all the products I needed  for it and other things I needed for nails and in May I started my journey.  I only work about 3 hours after I get off work at the day time job at night and then it  vary's on Saturday's.  If I don't have customer's during the week I don't really go up there or if I have something else I need to do I go ahead and do it.  I love making my own schedule :)  So if you're in the Andrews, TX area let me know and we will make your nails feel good and look good :)

Cymbre and Mike let us know around Mother's day that they were expecting baby #2!! Then this past Friday they had a gender reveal party in Midland.  They had gotten a cake with white icing and no one knew what it was until they cut into the cake.  And low and behold, the middle was.....pink!  My mom is so excited!  Well we all are really but she has wanted another little girl to buy for since Cymbre and I grew out of little girl clothes lol.  Ranston is going to have to keep his friends away from his little sister.  But I'm excited for her that she'll have his friends to choose from lol.  So now I am going to add bow making to my list of hobby's or I'll just find someone on Etsy to make them for me :)  I will go broke finding all the fabulous stuff made for little girls on Etsy lol.

On the weekend of July 30th, my friend Gwen and I made a trip to Austin for something that could change our lives forever!  I can't say much about it but we can not wait to see what God has in store for us in the next couple of months.  Just keep us in your prayers and hopefully soon enough we can let our friends and family know what we have been up to :)

Me waiting for our big moment in Austin :)

LIVEstrong

I absolutley love Lance Armstrong's livestrong website.  I've never been a calorie counter and I've done pretty much everything lol.  I never realized how much easier it is than counting points with Weight Watchers.  His website is free and you can keep track of your daily calorie intake, water intake, look at recipe's, keep up w/ your stat's for the day (i.e. sugars, carbs, protein, fats, etc.), and much more.  You can join his gold club but I've really enjoyed just the free membership.  There is an ap you can download onto your iphone or Blackberry that you can use when you are on the go.  It's only $2.99 which is a fantastic price compared to Weight Watchers price of $40 a month to use their's when the $2.99 fee is a one time price.  I love being able to go out to eat and whatever resturaunt I am in, putting in the name and seeing the calorie's for everything.  I am so glad that my friend Natasha introduced it to me.  I've lost 8.8 in 2 weeks doing it and can't wait for the rest of the results :).  Since I started last year I've lost 23.  Lol I know it doesn't seem like much for a year but at least I didn't gain it :) lol Gotta stay positive!

Does Anyone Else Hear the Song Eye of the Tiger?

Dun.....dun dun dun....dun dun duuunnnnn.....dun...dun dun dun....dun dun dunnnnnnn...lol...

I'm so excited! I do my weight loss best when I've got motivation from someone serious about it with me and we can lean on each other for support.  Well, I have a friendly competition (starting today) going with my sister Cymbre and cousin Sumer.  We are doing our first weigh in today :)  The way it's going to go is we will weigh in weekley (Cymbre via web cam lol).  Between Sumer and I who ever lost the most win's 1 lunch that week from the other.  Cymbre couldn't do that since she is in Beeville.  If you gain, you have to pay a dollar for every pound you gain.  The final day for the competition is May 31st and whoever has lost the most wins the money and the 2 who didn't win have to go in together and buy the winner a new outfit.  Now where do I want to get that outfit from...... ;)

I can kick...I can stretch.....I'mmmmmmm 30!

lol Ok so unless you have watched Saturday Night Live in the 90's you might not get the title but Molly Shannon had a character that would say that except she would say she was 50 lol.  I know that I'm late blogging about it but hey, at least I'm doing it now lol.  My sister and Ranston came down for my birthday and I was so glad they were here.  I had a really hard time turning 29 for some reason and I was worried about 30.  She and our friend Angela had orginized a great day!  At 8 am my dad brought me breakfast (which wasn't out of the ordinary for when he's in town) and handed me an envelope with some quick picks in it.  It was random but not out of the ordinary because we do random stuff like that all the time.  Then at 9 am my friend Lindsey Barnes brought me a bouquet of suckers and said there is 30 of them.
Like the cup I put them in? lol.  I thought it was random but still wasn't catching on and thought "Um ok what's up with this?" lol.  Then at 10 am Kristy Crutcher brought me some scratch off's for my birthday.  By this time I'm starting to think ok something is going on. Kristy had given me scratch off's before for my birthday.  She mentioned there was 30 and that's when it clicked.  I went in and looked at the quick picks from my dad and there were 30 of those also.  At 11 am my Grandmother brought me 30 little Dr. Peppers and my Mom and Craig sent 30 roses.
I met my sister at noon at La Hacienda and when I walked to the back some of my friends were there as well :) Cymbre, Angela Kennedy, Robbie and Jage Reed Stokes, Kristy, Kason, and Kynlee Crutcher, Lindsey and Cannon Barnes, Betty Zamora, Lorena Bustamante, and Victoria Guiterrez.
I got a crown and everything :) After we ate lunch Cymbre and Angela had gotten me cupcakes from Gigi's Cupcakes and I was so excited!  I had been wanting to try those cupcakes forever.

Talk about a sugar rush!  They were sooo good though :)  Cymbre also had them write a little note on cards for me.  They were really sweet.  After lunch Angela was my 1 pm and she brought me a zebra print pail with gold coins in it and there were quarters at the bottom.  Her card was the funniest card I had read in a long time.  It said "You know your getting old when you see a cute guy.....and wonder if his dad is single" lol.  Which is beginning to be true lol.  Robbie was my 2 pm and she brought me a gift card to Cpl Ray's.  Yum, love me some coffee.  My Nana was my 3 pm and she brought me 30 (1) dollar bills.  At 4 pm Natasha Riley brought me 3 rolls of quarters.  Then 5 pm came and my sister was my 5 pm.  She gave me the cutest shabby chic container.  In the container was 30 pieces of paper.  On those pieces of paper were 30 memories.  That was the most thoughtful gift I've received in a couple of years.  I also got some great photograph's from my Dad, 2 new watches from my Mom and Craig, and another most thoughtful gift was a cookbook my Mama made me.  I have wanted one of these for 10 years now.  A long time ago (I say long time because I can't remember when she did this but I know it was 10 years ago lol) she was addicted to Creative Memories scrap booking.  She made my Nana and her self a cookbook that had family receipe's along with photo's and other fun things from family members.  Well come to find out she has been making me one as well!! I had just mentioned to my Nana that I was going to "steal" her's and make copies of it lol.  When I opened the box I think I looked more surprised about it than anything :)  We ate dinner at my Nan's and I failed to mention at the beginning of this, but it was her birthday as well lol.  We had enchilada's from the meat market here because they delicious and easy.  After dinner my Mom, Cymbre, Angela, Sumer, Scott, and I left for Hobbs, NM to gamble at the casino.  I didn't win any money but my Mom kept sitting next to me and I couldn't think because her machine kept going off lol.  It was a really great day and really appreciated all that was done by everyone.  I feel blessed and loved for sure and the next time I'm feeling I'm not I'm going to reread this blog post :)

SOMETHING I FORGOT:

My cousin Sumer and I love watching Glee and one night while watching Rachel Berry pulls out her "boombox" and it is bedazzled lol.  It was so funny.  I made the comment "I need one of those!!!" Well low and behold Sumer and one of her friends spent alot of time and patience on a bedazzled radio and gave it to me for my birthday!  It's awesome!!! It has found a home in my kitchen and fits in perfectly :) It was another one of the thoughtful gifts :)

Oh and I just had to add this picture....isn't he adorable?  :)
