Somewhere Down In Texas...

I look south and see the old storm clouds roll...
On their way from old Mexico....

Ok, so this song doesn't have anything to do with this post other than it's about Texas...written by a Texas boy...and I love listening to it while I'm living in Texas.... :)

This past weekend I went to San Antonio with my dad and we met my sister, Mike, and the kids there.

One of my most favorite drives is down I 10.  It's through the hill country and I believe that is the most beautiful part of Texas.  If I could live in that area and I would.  I think it's absolutely gorgeous so I don't mind the scenery on the drive at all.  Plus I think it's more spread out more than I 20.  I get claustrophobic on I 20.

We spent most of our time relaxing but we did go to the San Antonio Zoo on Friday.  It was a great time to go because it was not packed at all.  We went in the morning so it wasn't to hot yet.  They have a train that goes around the zoo that we decided we needed to take.
Apparently me, Dad, and Mike were more excited about this than Ranston and Kenner.  I wish we would've gotten someone to take our picture so Cymbre could have been in it.  Oh well...it's the things you think of AFTER the fact.

Ranston loved riding the elevator.  We stayed at the Embessay Suites and their elevators are glass so you can see the whole way up and the whole way down...from floor 1....to floor 8...

And for some reason he felt he needed to  sit down and watch from there on most trips on the elevator :)

We found this amazing, amazing, Ah-ma-zing, place to eat in San Antonio.

The Magnolia Pancake Haus is so amazing!  It's so good...we went two days in a row...

Both days I had the bacon chedder omlet (and when I say I had, I mean I shared.  Everything I say I eat on the this trip was shared.  I don't think I finished even the parts I got) and then on the first day I had a pancake with it and the second day I had the french toast.  Now those that know me very well know that I'm a pancake junkie.  I love pancakes.  Now, their pancakes were fabulous, but their french toast...oh their french toast.  I really think they make their own bread and that's one of the reasons it is so amazing.  My mouth is watering right now just thinking about them.  Wish I would've gotten a picture...Ha!  Their coffee was also amazing!  I had posted about this restaurant on my Facebook and a friend said she goes there every time she's in San Antonio and that you can purchase the coffee online but it doesn't taste the same.  I may still have to try it.  It was so good.  I am just thankful that there isn't one close by and I only will eat there ever so often.  Give me time to work off what I ate the time before.  Here's a few pics of us at the Haus...

And I have to show this one just because I love her little pig tails...

Can't wait to see my sister again in a few weeks when she, my mom, and I attend a women's conference in guess where....San Antonio...
