And Another One Bites The Dust....

Actually, 11.4 to be exact!

I apparently didn't save my last post right and so I needed to rewrite it. Well time got away from me and I just didn't rewrite it lol.

I normally attend the noon meetings on Monday but one of my favorite people, Natasha, decided to join me at meetings so I went to a Tuesday 6 PM meeting so she could attend. I was so glad she decided to go! She had been doing it online only so I hope she enjoyed the meeting. I love attending meetings because I like hearing what other people have to say or ideas they have. I also love the accountability  it gives me and the recognition I receive at the meetings.   I lost 3 lbs this week and I earned my 2nd 5 lb sticker! The week of Labor Day I gained .4. I was ok with it. I paid attention to what I ate but at the same time I didn't make great decisions. I was definitely lucky that it wasn't more. I didn't make it to a meeting that week either. I had made plans to go on the Wednesday following Labor Day but I ended up going to Andrews to take care of the Andrews office for Sumer. After that it just seemed to close to Monday when I would be going to weigh in for the next week.

I'm taking my journey day to day but look forward to weigh in day every week. I already can't wait to go weigh in next Tuesday!  Like in AA, you have to take it day to day. Some people have to take it meal to meal. I am glad that I don't have to think "Wooooo! I made it through that meal. Now to focus on the next." I do plan out when I'm making for dinner for the week, I just don't designate what night I'm going to eat it.

I have made 2 new items that are definitely going into the rotation! One of them I made tonight and I was pretty shocked how well it turned out! I will post the recipes and info on them tomorrow :)

Two New Recipe's I Tried

I wish I was better at taking pictures during the process of the whole thing but I'm not.   I either forget until I'm halfway through or they look like crap.

The first recipe I tried was a bubble up breakfast bake.  It calls for a 7.5 oz can of biscuits and I thought I wasn't going to find them.  Well they are available, but in a 4 pack.  Now I have 3 cans of biscuits I'm not sure what I'm going to do with.  It was extremely easy (which is nice for when I get off work and I don't feel like cooking dinner).  I did change the recipe with one small little thing.  I'm not much of a ham person with breakfast foods so I did make Wright's bacon instead.  I went and put the recipe in on My Fitness Pal to get all of the nutritional facts for it and then went to my Weight Watcher ap and entered it in to find the point value.  This recipe is a serving of 6.  It's made in a 9 X 13 pan.  The portions are hefty to say the least. For the original version of this is 6 points per serving and the version I made was 9.  I would totally suggest making this.  And if you did in fact make it for breakfast, again it's a quick make so your family won't have to wait long.

The 2nd recipe I kinda made on my own.  I took a spaghetti squash and I sliced it in half then removed the seeds.  I brushed some extra virgin olive oil from Trader Joe's on it then put garlic salt, pepper, and McCormick's Italian Seasoning on top.  Then I put them face down on a cookie sheet.  I cooked it for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.  While the squash cooked I browned 1 lb of ground elk and diced up onion.  When the meat was finished I measured out 3 oz.  I then measured out 1 cup of sauce.  A serving is half a cup but it just didn't look right so I did 1 cup.  I mixed those together.  About the time I was done with that the squash was done as well.  I took a fork and shredded the squash into the bowl with the elk and sauce.  After I did that I mixed them together then poured it back into the spaghetti squash shell.  I sprinkled it with 1/4 cup of shredded mozzarella on top.  Put it back in the oven for 4-5 minutes to get the cheese melted.  After that it was complete I just let it cool for a few minutes and then had an awesome dinner!  With the left over elk and more sauce I made Travis' with the other half of the squash.  He really enjoyed it.  He ate his bowl clean!  I kinda worried about him not liking it but he did.  Yea!

God blessed me & punished me....

He blessed me by losing 2.8 lbs! But then he punished me because I didn't stay for the meeting :)

I had every intention of staying for the meeting when I got there. I went to the noon meeting today and if I had thoughts of changing my day, it has now changed. I got there and waited for a minute or so to weigh in. When it was my turn I got on the scale and found out I had a loss. I was so excited. I'll be honest I was scared that I didn't lose anything or gained a pound. I did what I was supposed to over the weekend in Denver but there was something still in the back of my mind that made me nervous. After I weighed in I got me a name tag & then I sat down and waited. When it hit 5 after and she hadn't started the meeting I knew she was going to start late. Usually they are very prompt. Then I turned around. That's when I saw the long line of people needing to still weigh in. I then knew for sure it was going to be a late start. I decided to go ahead and leave because I was on my lunch break and I still needed to go to Walgreen's and get a few things. While at Walgreens I went and got some things I needed and then went to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription. I told the woman working the counter that I'd pay for the other items at the front because I needed to get a few other things and change out a few things. So I walked around the store again for about another 10 minutes before I finally made it to the front check out. When I got to the register that's when I realized something. I still had my name tag on from the meeting!! Underneath where you write your name it says Weight Watchers on it....

I was embarrassed and thought it was the most comical thing all at once.
Tomorrow is the big day!  My 2nd weigh in!  I had to change weigh in day this week to Wednesday because of my trip and work was really crazy this past Monday.  After last week I decided that I shouldn't weigh in the Monday following a road trip.  No it's not because I ate stuff I'm not supposed to but that I retain water and need a day to get rid of it.  In Midland they don't hold meetings at lunch on Tuesday's so that's why Wednesday is the day.

I'm really looking forward to my meeting.  I love being with the other members and learning and getting idea's off of them.  And I love sharing what knowledge I have.  I'm also anxious to see how I did.  If it's just one pound again I will be ok with that.  It still means I'm making process.  I'm still better than where I was.

Tonight for dinner I'm making this bubble up breakfast casserole that I found from a woman I follow on Facebook and her blog Drizzle Me Skinny .  Instead of ham though I am going to use bacon.  It looks so good and I can't wait to try it!  I'll let you know how it is!

Do you have any new recipe's you are going to try?  If so let me know which ones and how they are!

Answer to WWOD

Oprah would have weighed in and went with it (or that's what I'm telling myself).

I am actually sitting in my meeting waiting on it to start. I weighed....I LOST 1.8! So it seems like not that much but they told me I am probably still retaining water from the road trip yesterday.  At least it's -1.8 and not +1.8!

We are going on a big trip this weekend to Colorado. I'm going to stay on program and not let the devil influence any bad behavior in the eating department.

Now on to week 2.....

Wwod

Wwod.....What would Oprah do?

I know it's early for a blog but needed to let this out somewhere (other than my head and Travis has already left for work lol).

Before we left I weighed myself to see where I was. Just to see what the difference would be over the weekend. While on my trip I counted points for EVERYTHING.  I drank a ton of water & walked a lot. I sweat a lot too lol. At the game I even made it a point to walk the slope on the 3 flights that went to level 2 just so I could get some extra steps in.

When I weighed a few minutes ago it said I had GAINED a pound! A whole pound since Friday!?! Seriously? So here's my question. So I wait until Wednesday to do my weigh in? Maybe I'm retaining some fluid from the car ride? And if that's the case I need to make Wednesday's my weigh in day because we travel a lot. I don't want to go through this every Monday.

I'm going to think it over this morning and I'll post what I decided to do. If you have any thoughts feel free to comment. Only positive comments though. Negative will be deleted 😬

My First Date With Meatloaf....

The food.....not the musician 😂

I have never made meatloaf. You see, I am not a fan. My mom would make it when I was a kid and I just did not like it. I'm not sure if it was the taste or the texture but it was not my cup of tea.

I have found a few recipe's on Pintrest that look really tasty.  Travis likes meatloaf and he's watching his carbs so I figured this was a great time to try one of them.  I decided to do a Spinich Mozzarella Meatloaf.

And am I the only one that turns the oven light on anytime their is something in the oven? I just love to be able to see it go through the transitions of cooking

 It smelt amazing while I was cooking it and in the end I liked it but there was still something about the texture. I'm going to give it a try again and see if I can fix it to where I really like it.  Here's the recipe http://pin.it/_LpuXjV . I did however tweak the recipe when I was putting the recipe in my Weight Watcher recipe builder. I used Weight Watchers mozzarella, Pregresso Italian Bread Crumbs, and ground elk.  Those that don't know Travis is a hunter and goes on an elk hunt every year. We have a freezer full of it so if my recipe calls for red meat 99% of the time it will be elk. Unless I forget to thaw it out and then I run to the grocery store and get beef.

Let me know if you try it, if you liked it, or made a new tweak you think I'd like!

PS it was only 7 WW points and I put that it had 8 servings so you get a decent amount for a serving 😊

I Heart Five on Friday

I'm doing my 5 on Friday link up today on the top 5 recipes I'm dying to try from Pinterest! It'll probably be about 2 weeks before I can fix any of these (gone this weekend and leaving Wednesday for another trip :) ) but I will make them :)

Ok so this last one may not be Weight Watcher friendly but hey I can still have it :) I love pistachio pudding so I'm almost positive I will love this!

Well.........

I went a to my first meeting in a really long time and I have to say, I was a little nervous.  I'm not sure why exactly but I was. Like I said in my previous post, I started with Weight Watchers when I was in the 8th grade in Odessa. The last time I did WW and was successful with it was when I was going to the Midland meetings. I just felt more comfortable. That was in 2006.  They have sense moved their meetings to a church and when I walked into the church I felt like this is where I need to be. The ladies at this particular meeting were so nice and so inviting! The leader of the meeting was very inviting and didn't make me uncomfortable (which is always something you want in your WW leader).

I had my first official weigh in. I was kinda sad that they wouldn't take the number I had on the scale on Wednesday when I started lol but I understood. Even though I will have a different start number I have lost 3 lbs since Wednesday! I have really been watching what I eat and making sure I didn't go over on points. I don't want to even dip in to my extra weekly points but at least if I need to I know they are there.

We are going to Arlington this weekend for baseball games so I'm going to see if I can do a little research before I get there. I really think there is side work you have to do in order to have a successful eating plan. Even here in the Permian basin, if we are going out to eat I will look at the menu before hand, see if they have their nutritional info on their website and work point value before I get there. Even when I was doing calorie counting I did the same thing. I don't want to get there and be stressed out about trying to figure out what I'm going to eat. Notice I didn't say what I CAN eat,but what I was going to eat. Whether you're doing WW or counting calories you can still eat anything you want. You just have to make sure that it's with in your point value/calorie allowance. And you have to be mature on sticking to your guns and not just blowing everything once you're there.

It is so crazy to see how my mind frame has changed in 3 1/2 years.  I mean.....I ate lasagna Florentine today for lunch that was loaded with veggies and not a ton of pasta and meat. Don't get me wrong, I still love that kind but sometimes you just gotta put your big girl panties on and pass on it :)

The sleeve and Weight Watchers are Joining Forces

I decided the two should meet and they hit it off....

I've always stressed that my sleeve is a tool.  It was by no means the "easy way out".  In October I will celebrate 4 years since my life was changed.  Yes, I have gained some weight back but nothing and I mean NOTHING like where I started.  I am still so blessed and happy everyday that I made the decision I did.  But here's what happened.  I got comfortable.  I got a little to comfortable.  I am still eating less but the choices I made were not the best.  Unfortuantly I had picked back up the Dr. Pepper habit.  Then after I quit smoking (was 2 years in April) I started getting the biggest sweet tooth.  Those two right there are not a match made in heaven.  I decided I had to take control of my life again like I did 3 1/2 years ago.

I had tried counting calories but for some reason it just did not work for me.  I don't know if I wasn't eating enough or the wrong things or to much of one thing, but it was not working.  So I decided to go back to something I knew had worked for me and has worked for so many different people.  I joined Weight Watchers.  I signed up online and I opted for the meetings and online.  I'm planning on going and visiting a meeting in Midland and probably in Odessa as well to get a feel for both.  The first time I did WW I was in the 8th grade.  Every Saturday my Nana, Dad Dad, and I would load up and drive to Odessa for mine and Nan's meetings.  If I had a tennis match I would go before my match and weigh in and then leave.  The woman that led those meetings was still there about 6 years ago when I went.  I don't care for the way she does the meetings so if she is still the only leader I will either opt to go to Midland meetings or just do it online.  One of the great new things with WW is that you can choose to do the online plan with a coach and not have to attend any meetings.  Now, you can do it just online but I have to have someone to be accountable to.  It makes me work harder and pushes me.  In the meetings they use to recognize the members for every 5 lbs that they had lost.  That was a big motivation for me too.  Yes I revert back to being 8 and being bragged on by the teacher lol.  I'll also be blogging about it because it makes me be accountable to ya'll as well!  I'm going to go to my first meeting in Midland Monday.  I hope I enjoy them.

I've started making low carb meals for Travis and of course they don't hurt me either.  After my surgery my taste buds changed towards certain things.  Things like vegetables.  I had already started eating roasted zucchini and asparagus but wanted to branch out a little.  I decided to try spaghetti squash.  And guess what!  I liked it!  I made a chicken enchilada bake with it.  I had found it on the Tasty pintrest page.  It has 3 others with it and I can't wait to try those.  I really can't wait to try it out in place of pasta.  I love me some pasta.  It won't take the place of bow tie but it should work for spaghetti and angel hair.  I had heard that spaghetti squash took on the flavor of whatever you put with it and it's true.  Click HERE for the recipe

Tonight I made a caprese style chicken breast and oven baked "fried" green beans.  I use to HATE green beans.  My mom would always make me eat them and I would have to wash them down with milk as fast as I could.  I think because they were canned green beans is why I didn't like them.  I love fresh green beans now.  I still can't stand the smell of canned lol.  I wish I would have taken a picture of the chicken but I didn't.  All I did was take a boneless skinless chicken breast and cut 5 slits on top.  I then sliced a Roma tomato and put a slice in every other slit.  Then I took a slice of  fresh mozzarella and a couple of basil leaves and put then in the other slits.  I then took McCormick's Italian seasoning and sprinkled it on top.  Put it in the oven at 350 for 45 minutes and man oh man!  It was delicious!!  WW point wise it was only 5 points!  I will definitely be making this again!  The baked "fried" green beans were 5 points as well.  Click HERE for that amazing recipe.  I'll be trying a few more new recipe's out this weekend so I will definitely keep you informed on how they were.

Can't to blog about my WW journey!  Hope you'll stay along for the ride :)  It's gonna be a fun one!

5 on {Friday}

Awwwww!  A link up!  I love them!  They are fun to write but I love being able to see other's blogs and see what they're writing about and hopefully get inspiration and a new blog to read.

Most of you know but for those of you that don't,  I am a very {random} person.  I like to be in conversation and go from one topic to the next and then back again.  There is always 500 things running through my head at once and so that's the result of it.  With that being said here's my 5 for {Friday} post.  It will be the most random thing you read all day..... lol.  And with it being Valentine's I'm going to post 5 things that I {love}

{one}
I absolutely love my Erin Condren planner.  This is my 3rd planner and it has seriously helped keep my sanity.  I use the monthly part for my bills.  I write on the side the bills I have and how much they are.  Then in the actually monthly calendar I post what bills are due what day.  It helps me look at a glance as to when things are due and then as I pay them I highlight them on the side.  When I was younger I was very immature and unorganized when it came to my bills so it makes my heart happy when I see them being highlighted one by one.  She then has it by the week.  I chose the veritcal layout and it is broken down by morning, noon, and night.  There is also an area on the left hand side to write notes, but there is also an area under each day to write notes.  Being on the go for so long it helped keep up with Dr. appt's, jewelry bars, functions, and has even helped with Origami Owl orders for my customers.  They also have a horizontal layout and I may try it out next year but I've really liked the vertical layout.

 {CK} for Christy K

 This is the horizontal layout

This is my cousin Sumer's planner.  I love how you can personalize it!

{two}
Blender Bottles.  How did I survive with out them?  They are the handiest items.  I use the larger one's to get my water in.  They have the measurements on the side so it makes it easy to keep up with how much water I'm drinking.  They also have a lid that seals and doesn't leak!  I'm not the most graceful sometimes so it's nice if I drop it I don't have to worry about it spilling.  OR if I am using it (usually a smaller one) for my protein drinks when I shake it.....it doesn't come out.  How awesome is that??  And for blending it has this amazing spiral ball that you put in with it and it breaks up the powder so you don't end up with clumps.  Ewww.  Who likes clumps in their shakes?  Not I.  They also have handy dandy containers that will screw to the bottom of most of the smaller ones so you can keep up with it all together and you don't have to have a separate container floating around in your bag.  They are just great for at the office, gym, or just running around town.

{three}
Full House.  Fuller House.  Basiclly anything with Candace Cameron Bure.  When I was a kid I looked up to her.  I wanted to be just like her.  Have hair like her.  Dress like her.  I thought she was amamzing.  As an adult I still think she's pretty awesome.  I love her Hallmark movies and have loved what she's done since Full House.  She has a great ministry and I had the oppritunity to meet her at a ladies event in Atlanta when my sister lived there.  Growing up Full House was a must on Friday's before we hit the skating rink.  I can {not} wait to watch the new series Febuary 26th on Netflix.  I told my mom and manager that I may need the day off so I could binge watch the show.  They thought I was kidding ;)  Watching the trailers, seeing the still shots, hearing the actors talk about the new show gets me giddy every time.......

 I have brought it back old school.  I have downloaded solitaire on my phone.  I love it!  It relaxes me and gives me a chance to not think about anything else.  If I'm having a stressful day, I can pull up solitaire and just play the game and think about what card needs to go where.  I've also downloaded Tetris.  Oh yaaaaaaa.......

{five}
I recently moved to Odessa with Travis and I have really enjoyed cooking dinner every night.  I cooked before but now I have {all} of my kitchen stuff with me and it makes it so enjoyable.  Plus, it get's really old eating out every night.  You run out of places to eat and feel like everyone knows you when you go to the same places over and over.  I have found a few great recipes on pintrest that have become staples.  We {love} the crispy cheddar chicken recipe I found on Pintrest( https://www.pinterest.com/pin/109704940900939052/ ).  The sauce calls for sour cream but the first time I made it I didn't have sour cream (and must've missed it on the recipe and didn't buy it) but I had cream cheese so I used it instead.  It was {DELICIOUS}!  Everytime I've made it since then I've used cream cheese but I think that I'm going to try greek yogurt to give it a healthier spin.

1st and 10 lets do it again! Gotta make your free throws! Strike 3 your outta here!

When I was younger I was not the type of girl that went to social sporting events.  I would go to football games but I never made an effort to go to the out of town games.  I only went to probably 2 basketball games, and 1 baseball game in my high school career.

It wasn't that I hated these activities, it was just that the people I hung around didn't go so I didn't go.  When I would go I always had a great time (even though I had not a clue as to what was going on.  Until Travis and I started dating I honestly didn't know what 1st and 10 meant) but just never went.

Fast forward to September 2013.  I started dating the most amazing man that also happened to be a sports nut.  Mostly college sports but has a few favorites in the NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB.  He took me to my first college football game in November of 2013, Texas Tech vs Kansas State.  I have learned that it does make a different when someone asks who's playing and you respond Kansas....You better have a state or university after that because (and I quote) "It makes a huge difference" ;) .  He graduated from Texas Tech but grew up being a University of Texas fan because that's where his father went to school.  We support both but when they play each other it really depends on who the home team is as to who we cheer for.  I mostly support Texas Tech but after going to a Tech vs UT game, supporting Tech and being on UT home terf.....We found ourselves wanted to do the UT chants and school songs but couldn't because we were wearing red and black.

We have season tickets to Tech games and his mom still has their season tickets to UT games so football season we are on the go every weekend pretty much.  And I love it.

I've been to so many Tech games for football, basketball, and baseball.  UT the same.  We've been to numerous Texas Rangers games.  When we visited Chicago this past year (2 different times), we went to 3 Cubs games.  It was one of the major things we wanted to do on our adventure there.  This coming weekend we will be going to our first NBA game to watch the San Antonio Spurs play the Lakers in San Antonio.  I can't wait!  Travis wanted to see Kobe play before he retires and I'm always looking for an excuse to go to San Antonio.  Plus, I really want to see the Spurs play.  It's going to be a great time!

Not only do we love the sports, teams, atmosphere, but the history that comes along with it.  I mean, Wrigley Field?  Come on now...

I love having my "teams".  It's nice to be able to have a connection to a team that I'm cheering for and I'm not just what some call a "Wal-Mart fan".

PS....There is absolutely nothing wrong with supporting a team and having no connection to them.  It just makes it more special and the experience more fun for me :)

Hi there! Hi! Hello! How are you?! Hi!!

Yes I'm a wee bit excited :)

I've decided to really put forth effort and start blogging again.  I miss it.  I recently moved and it is going to make it a lot easier for me to do again.  I miss the community that I was involved in.  Reading different peoples blogs and linking up.  My blogs will continue to be random.  Ranging anywhere from my life, new products I've used, memories, trips I've gone on, and a lot more.

Can't wait to get this going :)
